’The grants are intended to help the students complete their theses in the best way possible. Another objective is to enhance the interaction between Danisco and students of food, nutrition and biotechnology. We see them as potential future employees,’ says Svend Eriksen, group manager and senior principal scientist at Danisco.
Cecilie Kyrø is awarded a study grant for her thesis ’Intake of whole grain foods in the Nordic countries’. Cecilie will be finishing the project at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen, in cooperation with the Danish Cancer Society, and the project is part of the Nordic Centre of Excellence Programme on Food, Nutrition and Health, HELGA.
Camilla Ingvorsen is presented with a travel grant to study at Deakin University, Australia, where she will be doing research and laboratory work for her thesis on how various fats affect human cells and the metabolism.
Each year, food and biotech students at the universities under the Centre for Advanced Food Studies can apply to the Danisco Foundation for grants to complete their final theses.
The grants has been presented at an award ceremony today at Danisco’s head office in Copenhagen.
