The collaboration will be on joint PhD courses, exchange of scientific staff and joint research projects within the following areas:

Fermentation and Bioprocess Technology
Fluid Foods
Enzyme Technology
Bioactive compounds, Food Chemistry and Human Nutrition
Banaras Hindu University is situated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and Anna University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Last week the Research School FOOD Denmark hosted two Indian delegations, one from each of the universities mentioned above. During the visit the researchers from India met with Danish researchers from the LMC universities in order to establish collaboration groups, which should work towards getting funding of joint activities.
Professor DP Singh, Vice Chancellor for Banaras Hindu University, was among the delegation members. On December 4 he and Per Holten-Andersen, dean of Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen signed a Memorandum of Understanding, a general agreement on collaboration between the two universities.
