Welcome to LMC
LMC is a collaboration between University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark, Aarhus University, University of Southern Denmark and Aalborg University within the field of food related sciences.
LMC addresses the major issues for health, safety, quality and welfare by conducting innovative research across the food chain from fork to farm, integrating the most advanced analytical “omics” techniques and nano science and economical and sociological sciences. A strong record of investment in state-of-the-art research facilities and constellation of these facilities as well as the interdisciplinary capabilities within LMC combine to make the centre unique. Major scientific focus areas are listed in the strategy and they are also evident from the websites of individual research groups.
The universities within LMC offer a wide range of educations ranging from bachelor and candidate programmes, PhD to continuing education.
LMC initiates and coordinates a number of joint initiatives such as focused networks, Research School FOOD Denmark, annual scientific congresses, industrial task force group, development of strategy and evaluation. Activities are in general open for external parties. The private food sector, authorities, politicians, research institutions, universities, consumers’ organisations, innovation groups and other interested parties are involved in planning and performance of the activities.
